The practice

Buildings built
with a purpose.

Indomo is a RIBA Chartered architecture and interior design practice based in London, working across the UK and Spain. Founded by Mara Bravo — architect, interior designer, and WELL Accredited Professional — Indomo exists for one reason: to design spaces that genuinely improve the lives of the people inside them.

Mara Bravo — Founder, Indomo

Mara qualified as an architect in Spain in 1999. In 2006 she moved to the UK, where she gained her RIBA qualification and worked across multiple practices — building experience in both domestic and commercial projects, and learning how good design and poor design affect the people who live and work inside buildings every single day. A dual British and Spanish national, she works fluently across both countries — as much at home with the UK planning system as with the building traditions of southern Spain.

Over time, a conviction took shape: that aesthetics and sustainability are not in opposition — they are the same thing, pursued with enough intention. That the cost argument against sustainable design collapses when you account for the lifetime of a building. That the spaces we inhabit are not neutral — they either support health, comfort and focus, or they quietly undermine them.

Working across London and Andalusia has shaped a particular way of thinking about light, materiality and climate. Southern Spain demands architecture that responds to heat, shadow and the land. London demands precision, constraint and an understanding of how people actually live in dense urban environments. Both contexts inform every project, wherever it is.

In 2021, Mara founded Indomo to bring that conviction to every project. Not as a large firm with departments and processes, but as a focused practice where every decision — from spatial layout to material specification to quality of light — is considered in terms of its impact on the people who will live or work inside the finished space.

Indomo works across residential, commercial and wellness projects in London and Spain. As a WELL Accredited Professional, Mara is one of a small number of architects in the UK qualified to design and lead projects through the WELL Building Standard certification process — the global benchmark for buildings that support human health and wellbeing. That accreditation is not a badge for Indomo. It is a measurable advantage for every client who works with us.

A well-designed space is not a luxury.
It is a frame for living — and it changes
everything that happens inside it.

01

People before walls

Every project begins with the people who will inhabit the space — how they live, how they work, how they want to feel. The architecture follows from that, not the other way around.

02

Sustainability as craft

Sustainable design is not a constraint or a cost. It is the discipline of choosing materials, systems and proportions that perform better, last longer and feel better to be inside.

03

Beauty with consequences

Aesthetics are not superficial. A well-proportioned room, a considered palette, the right quality of light — these have measurable effects on mood, focus, sleep and health.

04

Commercial and domestic in dialogue

The best ideas in workplace design belong in homes. The warmth and care of domestic design belongs in offices. Indomo works across both deliberately.

05

The process should feel good too

Designing and building a space is one of the most significant investments a person or business makes. It should be a rewarding experience, not a stressful one.

06

Small enough to care, experienced enough to deliver

25 years of practice across two countries, across residential and commercial scales, means Indomo brings genuine experience to every project — alongside genuine personal attention.
